The primary role of the Health Management Consultant is to work directly with the Consultants to ensure that all aspects of health management services and wellness programming are handled accurately, professionally and consistent with established protocols.
This role will work closely with the Employee Health & Benefits (EH&B) Consultants and will support the strategic direction of the wellness function for Marsh & McLennan Agency’s clients. In addition, this role will assist EH&B Consultants in their efforts to provide insight and broad knowledge of health and welfare and employee benefits to our clients. This role will spend 75% of time supporting the Health Management team and 25% supporting the Employee Benefits team.
This role will require travel less than 25% of the time. Travel is primarily local to the New England region with travel to Atlanta ~2x per year.
Develop health management strategy via vendor collaboration and / or data analytics to support unique goals of clients
Familiar with accessing data warehouse systems, carrier data systems, and analysis of claims, utilization and condition specific data
Provide support to clients with health management program implementation, leverage vendor resources and provide strategic oversight
Assists Health Management and Employee Health & Benefits Consultant(s) with all aspects of coordination, development and execution of Health Management and / or Employee Benefits Strategy and periodic presentations for specific client groups.
Maintain direct involvement with employer by offering expert advice with all health management initiatives, including educational and promotional materials
Familiarity with Affordable Care Act with an expertise in compliance with all health management recommendations such as incentives, program requirements and affordability
Manage the coordination of client engagements and working relationship with all vendors, to include development and review of RFP process and negotiation of services
Manage the coordination of vendor partners implementation of wellness fairs, classes, speakers, seminars, personal training, and other programs that promote healthy lifestyles for MMA clients and employees
Develop budget, policies, and procedures relevant to the operation of the wellness program for both MMA clients and employees
Remain abreast of trends in the health management arena, health care reform impacts, and carrier program offerings
Function as the liaison among the employer, insurance carriers and external vendors
Facilitate positive and open communication with internal consulting teams
Develop strong, positive relationships with vendor partners
Bachelor’s Degree, Masters preferred
4-8 years in insurance industry experience with a thorough understanding of all benefit plans (medical, dental, life, STD, LTD, etc) design, rate structures, funding alternatives and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication and presentation with advanced writing skills.
Proficient in all areas of Health & Welfare compliance (i.e. HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, 5500, DOL, etc).
CEBS Certification or other industry recognized designations preferred.
LAH Licensure or commitment to achieving within 12 months of start date.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all levels of internal staff & management, external clients, prospects and vendors.
